About
Pocket Verdict started as a group chat where four friends kept arguing about which mobile games were worth a commute. At some point we got tired of losing track of our own recommendations, so we turned it into a site. Nothing fancy, just people who like phones and the odd late-night session.
We pick games the way a curious player would. Something lands in the charts, a reader sends us a tip, or one of us falls down a rabbit hole in a genre we don't usually touch. We install it, poke at the settings, play through a decent chunk, and only then do we write. If a game needs twenty hours before it clicks, we say so.
Our reviews lean toward the practical. How hot does the phone get? Does the control scheme fight you? Can you actually turn off the stuff you don't want? Those details matter more to us than a flashy trailer, because that's what you live with day to day.
We're independent and we keep it small on purpose. No corporate owner is telling us to be nice, and we'd rather write ten careful reviews than a hundred rushed ones.
Mireille Vasseur — Mireille has been reviewing mobile games since the first touchscreen phones made it bearable, and she still keeps a drawer full of old devices for testing performance. She leans toward strategy games but will happily lose an afternoon to a good racer.
